Hurricane Commerce wins Supplier of the Year at Parcel & Post Technology International Awards 2021

Hurricane Commerce has been named Supplier of the Year at this year’s Parcel & Post Technology International Awards.

The announcement was made on the first day of the Parcel & Post Expo 2021 which is being held in Vienna.

Hurricane received the award for the impact its cross-border data solutions have had during the last 12 months on key customers including Royal Mail, Emirates Post, An Post and SEKO Logistics.

The Supplier of the Year category was seeking to “recognise a company which has had a big impact on the industry over the past year, whether it’s for investment in new technologies, work with the postal operators or because of impressive growth. The winner of this category will have played a major role in helping to improve the future of the postal industry.”

Hurricane was founded in 2016 to meet the needs of postal operators, carriers, retailers, marketplaces and eCommerce platforms.

The company’s data solutions are in ever growing demand following a year of major regulatory change impacting the way businesses operate in cross-border eCommerce.

CEO Martyn Noble and Co-founder David Spottiswood collect Supplier Of The Year award.

Events including Brexit, the US STOP Act, Import Control System 2 (ICS2), the EU’s abolition of the VAT exemption on low value goods and the introduction of the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) have made complete and accurate data on shipments mandatory.

Martyn Noble, CEO of Hurricane Commerce, said: “I am honoured to receive the Supplier of the Year Award on behalf of the entire Hurricane team and all of our customers and partners who have made this possible.

“We were confident when we established the company five years ago that data accuracy was going to become ever more important in cross-border eCommerce.

“The events of the last year have confirmed beyond all doubt that complete and valid shipment data is non-negotiable for those postal operators, carriers, retailers and marketplaces wanting to drive scale in global eCommerce.

“Having the right data across the supply chain increases revenues, reduces costs, creates greater operational efficiency and enhances customer experience.”
