Virgin Money has refinanced Hurricane Modular Commerce, a fast-scaling technology firm committed to revolutionising cross-border e-commerce logistics, with a £2.25 million venture debt facility,

Founded in 2016, Hurricane Modular Commerce delivers cutting-edge, AI-driven cross-border e-commerce solutions to logistics providers worldwide. The company was built on the founders’ vision that international e-commerce would continue to expand, with cross-border compliance becoming increasingly critical. Global regulatory changes are mandating automation for cross-border transactions that underscores the urgency for scalable compliance solutions.

Hurricane’s technology ensures accurate tariff classification, correct duty calculation, and full compliance with international trade agreements and restrictions. The platform is compatible with regulations in over 209 countries and is fully multi-lingual and multi-currency enabled, providing robust compliance infrastructure.

This refinancing marks a key milestone in Hurricane’s growth journey and reflects the Virgin Money Venture Debt team’s commitment to supporting innovative, high-potential businesses in the tech sector. Interesting Fact: I started my working life training to be an accountant but decided I hated numbers. (Ironically I now love them!). I really wanted to join the Hong Kong Police force but couldn’t do that until i was 24. I took a temporary job in Imports and 47 years later here I am.

Favourite Music: There only was one choice. Harry Chapin. Meant a lot to me in my early years as an import broker. We played Chapin for hours and this one seemed to cover so many modes.
