EVRi – previously known as Hermes – has integrated Hurricane Commerce’s award-winning Zephyr and Aura solutions to ensure the best possible experience for its international eCommerce customers.
The parcel delivery specialist began by successfully adopting our denied parties screening and prohibited and restricted goods screening services.
EVRi and its retailer customers are benefiting from Hurricane’s monitoring and updating of over 250 lists of denied parties in real-time, ensuring new information is live and accurate.
Hurricane also continually updates prohibited and restricted items in line with government announcements from around the world.
EVRi is now extending the use of Hurricane’s technology to include its Zephyr data enhancement solution which ensures that shipments have the right data – including HS6 codes, product descriptions and 8- and 10- digit import and export codes – to pass smoothly through customs and on to the end consumer.
Ed Ayyad, Director of International at EVRi, said: “EVRi is committed to providing our customers with the best possible experience and a key part of this mission is ensuring parcels can move seamlessly on to their final destination.
“Achieving this requires the adoption of best-in-class technology and we are therefore delighted to have chosen Hurricane to be our global strategic partner for the provision of cross-border data solutions.”
Hurricane has been contracted by Australia Post to help it make the most of the rapid growth in cross-border eCommerce.
Hurricane is a preferred partner of Royal Mail, enabling them to provide their customers with best-in-class cross-border eCommerce services.
Our Aura solution is a key part of the company’s recently launched EU VAT and IOSS service.
Royal Mail customers are able to access our duty and tax calculator and screen for prohibited and restricted goods and denied parties.
Royal Mail was also the first customer to trial and subsequently roll out our Zephyr Bulk Upload portal, providing a cost effective way for e-retailers to ensure they have accurate product descriptions and HS6 codes.
An Post is working with Hurricane Commerce to help it develop its cross-border eCommerce capability.
The postal operator in the Republic of Ireland has integrated Hurricane’s Zephyr solution to enhance the quality of its advance electronic data on mail parcels.
The requirement for posts to meet a higher threshold for parcel data will be far greater from January 1, 2021, with Brexit and the enforcement of the STOP Act in the United States.
A further major change follows in March next year with the implementation of the Import Control System 2 (ICS2) requiring postal operators to make entry summary declarations on all packets and parcels.
Emirates Post selected Hurricane as its data partner of choice to support the postal operator’s global eCommerce growth strategy.
Hurricane’s solutions are being used across various parts of its business, but with a major focus on providing best-in-class data solutions for its International Business Unit.
Emirates Post’s ambition is to develop a global B2C parcel business leveraging the UAE as a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) hub.
The postal operator chose our Zephyr and Aura solutions after a rigorous tender process, giving the post our complete suite of solutions including data enhancement, duty and tax calculation, prohibited and restricted goods screening and denied parties screening – all critical in today’s fast-moving, highly regulated world of cross-border eCommerce.
Peter Somers, CEO of Emirates Post, said: “We were impressed by the experience and knowledge of the Hurricane team and the quality of the data solutions they have developed.”
