Hurricane has been contracted by Australia Post to help it make the most of the rapid growth in cross-border eCommerce.
Hurricane’s technology will enable Australia Post’s eCommerce retailer customers to accurately calculate import duties and taxes applicable to purchases.
Hurricane’s deep-learning Bluestone Artificial Intelligence and Aura API gives merchants the ability to be fully transparent with their customers about how much they must pay, inclusive of delivery and import duties and taxes.
Hurricane has partnered with the International Post Corporation (IPC) to provide its members with a range of cross-border solutions.
We are enabling the IPC’s Dynamic Merchant Platform (DMP) to drive cross-border services for postal authorities and their customers.
Hurricane provides the landed cost engine for the DMP calculating all import duty and tax, providing customers with total transparency of cost.
The solution also offers prohibited and restricted goods screening and denied party screening. By screening all goods and customers, businesses can comply with all import, export and transport regulations as well as ensuring they do not sell to anyone on a global denied party list.
Hurricane has joined the Adobe Exchange Partner Program for Experience Cloud to offer retailers a cross-border solution to ease the ever-evolving demands of regulatory matters, duties & taxes and product classification.

The requirement for posts to meet a higher threshold for parcel data will be far greater from January 1, 2021, with Brexit and the enforcement of the STOP Act in the United States.
A further major change follows in March next year with the implementation of the Import Control System 2 (ICS2) requiring postal operators to make entry summary declarations on all packets and parcels.
