One World teams up with Hurricane Commerce for cross border data solutions

Leading logistics solutions provider, One World Express, has today announced Hurricane Commerce as its global data partner.

The strategic partnership will enable One World to lead in the cross-border arena by providing a first-class service and innovative solutions to online sellers.

One World delivers solutions through a single API connection into its technology platform Smarttrack, which powers its eCommerce logistics platform, Ship2World.

Smarttrack delivers transparent and efficient end-to-end support for eCommerce sellers. This includes Semi Tracked and Tracked Solutions, in-Country local hero Couriers and Worldwide Express through integrators.

The integration of Hurricane’s AI-driven real-time data solutions, Zephyr and Aura, into Smarttrack will further enhance its sophisticated offering by ensuring that shipments have the right data – including HS6 codes, product descriptions and 8- and 10- digit import and export codes – to pass smoothly through customs and on to the end consumer.

Hurricane’s Aura product covers the three critical cross-border areas of duty and tax calculation, prohibited and restricted goods screening and denied parties screening.

While cross-border ecommerce continues to grow, online retailers and marketplaces are faced with greater regulatory challenges which mean that complete, accurate and compliant shipment data is business critical.

Events including Brexit, the US STOP Act and the EU’s abolition of the VAT exemption on low value goods and the corresponding launch of the EU’s Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) are now resulting in shipments increasingly being held or delayed at customs because they lack the correct data.

Hurricane’s data solutions, teamed with One World’s SmartTrack solution, will provide the data required for frictionless cross-border trade in lightning quick time.

Atul Bhakta, One World Express Group’s CEO, said: “The Ship2World platform, which is powered by our technology platform Smarttrack, is enabling customers to expand into new and exciting global markets but, to achieve this, the platform must be best-in-class.

“The integration of Hurricane’s Zephyr and Aura data technologies is a key part of our offering, ensuring that our customers’ data meets the stringent requirements of today’s cross-border regulations.”

Martyn Noble, CEO of Hurricane Commerce, said: “We are delighted to become One World’s global data partner for its technology platform Smarttrack which also powers its Ship2World platform.

“The platform provides customers with the capability to expand internationally, but to do this requires complete and accurate shipment data.

“From first file to last mile, data is king and this partnership with One World will give eCommerce businesses, whether small or large, the peace of mind that their products will be able to move seamlessly around the world.”
