Yesterday, at the Parcel + Post Expo in Excel London, Hurricane won two of the ten awards up for grabs this year. We were both honoured, and thrilled to receive:
Supplier of the Year
This is what the judging panel had to say:
“For a decade, Hurricane has been the compliance backbone for postal operators worldwide and in 2026 the company took that trust and gave it teeth, making it worthy winners of the Supplier of the Year award.
The company was recognized for its Global Trade Ecosystem (GTE) product, which delivers full PDDP, DDP and DAP checkout capability on any trade lane, globally, providing customers with accurate landed costs, upfront duty and tax collection and end-to-end compliance in one platform.
The launch of the GTE system was timely, with the EU eliminating de minimis on July 1, 2026 and the USA pulling its thresholds in August 2025. The UK will also phase out its de minimis threshold by 2029. According to Hurricane, posts that cannot offer pre-paid delivery will watch their shippers walk to commercial alternatives. GTE is the flexible orchestration layer that does it all – payments, escrow, compliance, logistics, tracking, IOSS and customs clearance – and it is configurable per trade lane with no extra integration for new corridors. Hurricane’s Global Assure system adds browser-based access without API integration.
Hurricane built the infrastructure global posts need at the exact moment the regulatory walls are going up, reinforcing its position as a partner that posts already trust, with the tools the market now demands.

ECommerce Fulfilment Technology of the Year: Global Trade Ecosystem

“The Hurricane Global Trade Ecosystem (GTE), the first flexible orchestration layer purpose-built for cross-border e-commerce fulfilment in the post-de-minimis era, was the winner in the E-commerce Fulfilment Technology of the Year category.
Cross-border e-commerce now lives or dies at the checkout. From July 1, 2026, the EU eliminated de minimis, while the USA pulled its thresholds in August 2025. Every shipment crossing those borders without pre-paid duty and tax is a ticking time bomb of doorstep refusals and returns. Hurricane GTE solves it at the point that matters – before the order is placed.
GTE plugs into the e-commerce checkout and orchestrates everything that follows. The shopper sees the true landed cost, duty, tax, clearance and admin fees, calculated against Hurricane’s decade-validated trade intelligence. Payment is processed and held in escrow until delivery, with all parties paid on schedule. Compliance checks, denied parties screening, IOSS, customs clearance and tracking all run within the same platform.
The architecture is flexible by design. Retailers, marketplaces and carriers configure GTE per trade lane, switching capabilities on and off per corridor. New lanes need no additional development, just web-based configuration.
This is fulfilment technology that turns the regulatory disruption of 2026 from a threat into an advantage.

For a product that was only launched in April this year to take this prestigious award is testament to the 10 years of innovation that has culminated in GTE. Hurricane’s engineering and customs teams have put all their knowledge and experience into bringing the best in class product to the market.

The Parcel + Post awards are important in the cross border calendar as they are not voted for by the organisation running them, or via paid for stands or editorials like most are, but voted on by a group of senior industry figures, so this brings real weight to the value of these prestigious awards.

Hurricane’s Panel Participation
Hurricane were also on two panels across the show, the first was on the Disrupt and Deliver stage on a panel organised by the UPU Consultative Committee, with our very own Mark Woodcock giving his insights on the panel discussing “Connecting the Global Postal Ecosystem”.
The main focus of the panel was the collaboration between designated operators and wider postal sector players. How consultative committee members integrate with the UPU to improve operational and financial outcomes for posts. Hurricane being one of the UPU’s Consultative Committee members.
Mark brought an encyclopedic-like depth of insight from his postal industry career and discussed the challenges the industry faces, in the new emerging world of ever changing legislation and tariffs.
The second panel featured one of Hurricane’s founders, and current board advisor, Martin Palmer, on the Smart Logistics Hub as part of the panel discussing how companies can meet the challenges and exploiting the opportunities of cross border ecommerce. This is a hot topic right now, with the changing world of global trade, and was well attended.
Martin is also the current chairperson for Hurricane of the UPU’s Customs and Product Security Rapporteur Committee.
